New student space contributing to campus experience
The opening of the Student Activity and Innovation Centre has contributed to a fresh new experience for our students who are just starting the 2017/18 academic year at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC).
Located in the basement of the Portland Building, the 2,200 m2 new space features co-working space, meeting rooms, group study rooms, discussion rooms, students’ activity rooms and fitness areas.
David Zhang, Head of Student Engagement Office provided a tour for the delegation from the University of Nottingham and Nottingham city headed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir David Greenaway.
David said:” It’s important for student societies to have a dedicated location and let them work together. We tear down walls and create this co-working space to enhance collaboration and communications. It also serves a perfect spot for students to study, hang out or simply relax.”
Professor Chris Rudd, Provost of UNNC and Yidan Zhu, President of Students’ Union unveiled the plague for the Student Activity and Innovation Centre together.
